As with any dream symbol it's meaning is defined by the context of the dream, what's going on around it and your personal perception of the symbol. But as a symbol on it's own a jigsaw would be about "putting the pieces together" in some area of your life ie: getting all the information and making sense of it.

Sometimes it feels in life that some crucial piece of information is missing and that we can't figure out the "puzzle" of what's going on until we have it. Or conversely we find that last piece and have an "aha" moment when everything makes sense.

The context of the dream would tell you if you were still looking for information to complete the puzzle or if you already had all the information and had "solved" the puzzle.

thanks for the answer i thought i would never find one. The puzzle in my dream was a jigsaw puzzle but in the end of it the puzzle was completed and the person i was forming jumped out of it and wrapped his arms around me. I was putting the puzzle together in various different places. After certain events i was back at the puzzle and it was either just getting started, it was half way done, and it was completed. Any idea what it means?

It's really hard to work out a dream when the details are vague. It would make a difference if you know or don't know this person. If you do then it sounds to me like you were trying to work out the puzzle of someone else's character/personality, since when you completed it, someone jumped out of the puzzle. If you don't know them then it would more likely be a part of your own personality you are trying to work out.

Being at the beginning, the middle and then the end of the puzzle would be showing the process you are going through to understand this other person or a part of yourself. It could also symbolize the fact that people we know can surprise us and show us different parts of themselves. So we think we have completed the puzzle of who that person is and then we realise that we have to go back to the beginning.

I think a jigsaw puzzle means that you are stuck in the past with a significant problem and that you will need a lot of therapy to move forward. Your days of sanity may be at an end.
