I have NEVER been able to find a dream interpretation of the semi -precious stone cornelian. A very significant dream I had over ten years ago featured my deceased grandfather handing me a beautiful, huge orange cornelian and advice about how to use my heart. I suppose it could represent some ancestral wisdom being passed to me , but it seems the stone itself, being so memorable, should hold some sort of meaning. The only meaning it has for me is that is is always paired with turqouise in Native American jewelry.

I would suggest that the only significance to the stone in this dream relates figuratively to a 'gem of wisdom' imparted. It would appear that you were fond of your grandfather and he of you.

You are right on track. As well, Jennings is spot on. I would only add that the stone he has given you in your dream, depicts the hopes and dreams that he had for you to live a bright and full life. It is quite apparent that he was a great influence to you. This is a significant dream that not only tells about his aspirations for you, but conveys that he was instrumental in the development of your understanding of feelings and emotions.
Keep in mind that it is not the name of the stone that is important but more the way in which you view the stone that connotes it's specific meaning.
